How Mithila Melange Came to Be
If you’re a Maithil living outside Bihar, you grow up surrounded by small glimpses of a culture so rich and yet so quietly different from the rest of India. Be it wedding ceremonies full of unique symbolism or unique artefacts handed down through generations. Our food, our rituals, our art each carry a flavor and rhythm that was uniquely our own.Â
As I continue to explore and rediscover my roots, I realize just how much of Mithila’s incredible diversity remains unknown beyond its borders. Mithila is so much more than Madhubani painting. It’s a melange of stories, traditions, and crafts, each waiting to be shared with the world.
Being an art and craft enthusiast, I’ve always been captivated by the creative soul of Mithila. This love for my culture, combined with a desire to share its rich artistic heritage, inspired the creation of Mithila Melange — a celebration of tradition meeting the modern world.
